The SBP Style Guide for the THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson

If you’re headed to the tournament this weekend, the key is looking smart but not too smart. You want to avoid looking like you’re either about to work out or about to go out. Think elevated daytime style with practical accessories.
The most important thing to consider: the heat.
It is HOT. Some holes have shade, plenty do not, and you’ll likely be walking far more than expected. Even when you’re standing still watching a hole, the heat can feel even more intense without much breeze or movement.
The vibe is elevated casual: think cute dresses, sporty skirts, polished athleisure, matching sets, breezy linens, and “country club-adjacent” energy.
A few recommendations:
• Comfortable shoes are a must. This is not the event for painful sandals or “sitting shoes.” Cute sneakers are probably the smartest option, though a comfortable sandal works too. Just remember you’ll be on your feet outside for most of the day. Think fresh white sneakers, sporty sandals, or anything you can comfortably walk in for hours.
• No jeans. Even if they’re cute, they’re not quite the vibe. White jeans are within the realm of possibility, but check the forecast first. As chic as they can look, a full day at the tournament is a long time to spend in denim.
• Small bags only. A crossbody or compact shoulder bag is ideal. You want something hands-free, lightweight, and easy to carry all day. Raffia is basically the neutral of the season, so this is the perfect place to lean into it!
• Athleisure absolutely works, just keep it polished. Think tailored tennis skirts, golf-inspired pieces, structured active dresses, crisp hats, clean sneakers, and intentional accessories.
• Sunglasses are part of the outfit. Do not forget these. You will absolutely need them!
The goal is effortless, polished, and weather-appropriate. You want to look put together enough for the clubhouse, comfortable enough for a long day outside, and practical enough to survive the Texas heat!
